Literacy Project #1:

Name: Earn to Learn

Description: The Northwest Des Moines Rotary Club supports an Earn to Learn reading program at Longfellow Elementary School which is still going strong and is a highly successful program. We have a core group of members (about 15) that read to/with students every week.  The school principal has commented to us on numerous occasions about how much improved the students’ test scores are.

Literacy Project #2:

Name: Dictionaries and Backpacks

Description: Rotarians also donate money to purchase backpacks and dictionaries for the students.
