The Emergency Residence Project was started in 1985. Since that time it has grown to include temporary housing for families as well as single adults. One of the most important ways this project receives assistance from the community is through meal donations.
Ames Morning Rotary became involved with the Emergency Residence Project in 1997 by volunteering to provide meals. As a community service project, Rotarians serve an evening meal to 7-10 adults on the fifth Wednesday of any month. The 2007- 08 participation dates are:
July 30, 2008
October 29, 2008
December 31, 2008
April 29, 2009
This is the 11th year of the club's involvement and sign-up is presently underway. Participation has varied from 13 - 30 Rotarians each year.
