Club Goals for 2003-2004

Family of Rotary

1.
Establish Family of Rotary Committee
2.
Invite Rotarians' families to join in projects, e.g., attend meetings, Mortenson cleanup, picnic, Valentine's dinner, etc.
3.
Formal orientation and training for new members. All new members are assigned to a committee and asked to do at least one task for Rotary in the first two months of membership.

Our Club

1.
Three new members by April 1, 2004. I.e., exceed the Rotary International goal.
2.
Polio Eradication. Continue support and recognize members for participation..
3.
News release concerning our club activities. Dave Kraemer, editor.

Our Vocations

1.
Encourage members to serve on committees and their place of employment. List committees where members serve.
2.
Teacher of the Year Award for Ames, Gilbert, and Story City schools.
3.
Give all new members copy of 200-EN. Declaration of Rotarians in Businesses and Professions.

Our Community

1.
Project to feed hungry. Continue our involvement in serving meals at Ames Emergency Shelter Services.
2.
Rotary Centennial Project at Ada Hayden Park. Fishing piers and benches.
3.
Continue our club emphasis on promoting literacy.
4. Encourage involvement in a mentoring program with youth.
5. Continue Mortenson Road cleanup.

Our World

1.
Century Club, $100/member/year.
2.
Assist with funding and participation in Xicopetec, Mexico Project.
3.
Extend literacy project to Xicopetec, our book in Spanish.
4. Continue our involvement with the new Frydek-Mystek Rotary Club.
